Research Activities:
Phytoremediation of heavy metals contaminated soil and water
In phytoremediation of Pb, As, Cr and Ni contaminated soil/water, some native plant species collected from metal contaminated areas are used for metal removal from soil as well as contaminated water. Role of various amendments and plant growth promoting bacteria is also evaluated in phytoremediation of metal contaminated soil and water.

Our particular emphasis is on removal of arsenic from drinking water using various materials including agricultural wastes, nanoparticles and arsenic accumulating plant species.
